South Philadelphia Community Fridges
Phully Rooted's first hunger relief partner is our amazing neighbors, Community Fridges in South Philadelphia.
Food pantries' demand for fresh produce has increased 3x since 2019. We hope to help answer that demand while supporting our regional food culture by increasing all Philadelphians' access to foods grown by PA farmers in their natural seasons. 20% of the retail price of each almanac sold will be used to purchase wholesale, locally-grown fruits and vegetables to stock the fridges for our neighbors struggling with hunger.
It is our hope that over time and with sales of our almanac in other regions we may broaden our hunger relief efforts to feed broader swathes of Philadelphia and Pennsylvania. We also hope to support hunger relief organizations to use Phully Rooted as a fundraiser or educational tool by providing print-your-own and flexible size options. If you wish to discuss those possibilities, please sign up for a consultation on our home page. The $20 administrative fee will be put toward your final purchase if you decide to go forward with project. Feel free to reach out to phullyrooted at gmail dot com with questions.
We are grateful to the organizations that generously supported the creation and first printing of Phully Rooted so that it may continue to be a self-sustaining project while harvesting a significant portion of every sale to put toward feeding people local food. Thank you to The Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, The Scholler Foundation, the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture's PA Preferred Program, and Pasa Sustainable Agriculture. We appreciate their support and belief in this project. And we appreciate YOU.
